Course Overview
Exeter is a nine-hole course played twice with 18 alternate tees. Click a map to view it larger and explore each hole's details.
Public Playing Times
On Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday, visitors should generally hit off after the daily club competition is completed (usually around 3:00pm).
Green Fees & Hire
Dress Code
- Neat casual attire and footwear required.
- Appearance must be neat, clean and tidy.
- Singlets, beachwear, thongs and offensive logos are not permitted.
- Appropriate golfing footwear required.
- Sandals, thongs or heavy work boots are not allowed on the course.
- Tracksuit pants are not allowed.
- A collared or high-necked shirt is preferred.
Course Care & Etiquette
- Give way to greenkeeping staff.
- Replace divots and repair plug marks.
- Rake bunkers and use sand buckets.
- Use walkways and bridges.
- Do not take buggies onto greens.
- Ride-on buggies are not permitted within 5m of tees or greens.
- Ready Golf is recommended to maintain pace of play.
Local Rules
Out of bounds includes boundary fences and areas defined by white pegs with black tops. Water hazards are defined by yellow pegs; lateral water hazards by red pegs. Always check the notice board before play for any temporary local rules.
Golf Cart Rules
Whenever a golf cart is being used on or around the course, the following rules must be obeyed by the cart driver:
- The golf cart must be driven with due care and attention.
- Driving the golf cart whilst under the influence of alcohol is not permitted.
- No more than 2 people are permitted to ride on/in the cart at any time.
- All local golf course rules and golf cart directional signs must be obeyed.
- Avoid driving over sprinkler heads, into bunkers, through roped off areas, onto/off grass mounds, over GUR, and through wet or boggy areas.
- Always use established cart pathways wherever they exist; otherwise drive on the high side of the fairway and stay on the second cut.
- Wherever possible park on cart pathways or the high side of the fairway on the second cut, adjacent to the ball, then walk to the ball.
- Along fairways always park behind, or to the side of, but not in front of, any golfer who is yet to hit/play their ball.
- Around greens always park on the second cut to the side of, or rear of, but not in front of, the green, closest to and in the direction of the next tee.
- Wherever possible the cart should not be parked closer than 6 metres from the edge of the green.
- Never drive a cart onto, over, or park on, a tee bed or green.
- Never park a cart ahead of the tee bed you will be hitting off from next.
- When all else fails, remember that golf etiquette rules apply when driving a cart.
Penalties
Anyone who fails to obey the above rules may be sanctioned by the Board. Depending on severity, sanctions may involve:
- A verbal warning.
- A written warning.
- A time ban from driving a cart at Exeter Golf Club.
